This year we are proud to be offering heritage breed turkeys (bourbon red, spanish black and chocolate) as well as broad-breasted bronze turkeys for Thanksgiving. Our turkeys are fed non-GMO feed, but more importantly, they are raised on pasture where they are naturally able to forage for bugs and grasses.
Heritage breed turkeys are slow-growing birds with excellent natural foraging instincts, which makes a juicy, more flavorful bird, but they will have a smaller breast than a broad breasted variety.
We decided to go with broad-breasted bronze turkeys this year, as they are descended from the bronze turkey, which is a more flavorful bird than the white turkeys found in the grocery store.
We are anticipating a finished weight range from 15-22 pounds, and the cost will be $4.00/lb for broad-breasted bronze and $5/lb for heritage (less your $25 deposit) at the time of pick-up. Turkeys will be fresh (not frozen), and ready for pick-up (TBA) the week of Thanksgiving. We will have a central pick-up site for Harrisburg customers.
We will accept checks and debit/credit cards at time of pick-up.
This year we are trying something a little different for our community supported agriculture program. We are offering memberships to the farm where you are able to choose when you shop and what you buy.
Members will be able to shop with us during Farm Store hours, at farmers markets, and online. Using their membership card, they can purchase anything we have in stock that day. In addition, members will receive a newsletter with farm going-ons and special offers. Special offers will include things like limited crop offerings (such as sweet corn) or discounts on products. Finally, we are offering members an incentive for signing up:
How do you sign up?
You can sign up in person by buying one of our membership cards. You choose the level, and cards are refillable. The value does not expire.

Jackie and Eric Deiter purchased their 8-acre farmette in 2018 with the goal of providing fresh, local produce to their community. They are currently building the farm infrastructure that, in addition to produce, will provide eggs, honey, some meat, fruit, as well as canned and dried goods.
